We started this site because we went through an unreasonable number of coloring books and art supplies trying to find ones that didn’t disappoint. Thin paper that bled through. Pencils that broke on the first sharpen. Books where every design was basically the same mandala with slightly different petals.
Here, we review coloring books, pencils, markers, and paper with the same scrutiny we’d want someone to use before recommending them to us. We color in them. We test the paper with different mediums. We sharpen the pencils multiple times to check for breakage. We actually use the things we review.
We also write about the mental health side of coloring — because that’s why most of us do it, and there’s real research behind it. We cite our sources and don’t overstate what the science says.
